Introduction
For EEG applications and more, the innovative OneStep EEG-Gel® combines the typical two step approach of skin preparation and conductivity gel application into a single step. Besides the convenience of a one step process, the optimal conductivity to the electrodes is achieved using the OneStep EEG-Gel®.

Background
Due to the skin's natural fat content and corneous layer, a good contact between scalp and the electrodes is often not achieved even with the use of conductive gels. The consequence is incorrect or non-analyzable results. In fact lack of electrode contact is the most frequent malfunction source within EEG measurements. To minimize this source of error, the scalp should be prepared before application of the electrodes by cleansing and exfoliating the skin.

Why use OneStep EEG-Gel®?
Up to now preparing the skin for optimal electrode contact required a two step process. First step involves cleansing and roughening the skin followed by the application of electrolyte solution to ensure a good contact between electrodes and skin. By the use of OneStep EEG-Gel® this time-consuming preparation of the skin for examinations is eliminated. How? OneStep EEG-Gel® contains both the abrasives (ie pumice) to roughen / cleanse the skin and the electrolytes for good conductivity. The end result is skin preparation and optimum conductivity achieved by the use of only one gel and only one procedure. This saves time for both the user and the patient, and improves the overall efficiency of the procedure.

Features
Because OneStep EEG-Gel® contains neither fat nor alcohol or colourings it is easy to remove by rinsing and friendly to skin. Additional it has a neutral odour for greater acceptance by users and patients. In contrast to alcohol-containing or liquid EEG preparations, a good constant conductivity is achieved. Because it is a viscous gel, OneStep EEG-Gel® can be selectively applied to any skin surface and still provide optimal results. This includes testing done at very low measurement resistance (ie from 2-5 kW) proven in numerous applications.

Due to these excellent physical properties, OneStep EEG Gel® is applicable for routine EEGs, long time EEGs, evoked potentials and nerve stimulations.

Application
Please shake well before using! For routine EEG applications, squeeze 5-6 grams of the gel onto a suitable pad. Then apply OneStep EEG-Gel® with the help of a cotton bud where the electrodes will be placed and use slight pressure in a circular motion to scrub the area. OneStep EEG-Gel® is a ready to use gel which is applied directly on the scalp. When the EEG is complete, the electrode felts can be easily rinsed with water until clean. Gel that remains in the patient's hair can be removed with water or by combing the hair after drying.

Package size and prices
OneStep EEG-Gel® is produced according to pharmaceutical GMP conditions. It is available in packaging sizes of 120 g. The costs for one package is 7,90 € which corresponds to 0,29 Eurocent per routine EEG. OneStep EEG Gel® has a shelf life of 36 months.

OneStep Cleargel is a conductive gel which improves test results. Due to a new composition compared to other conductive Gels OneStep Cleargel offers a unique texture for best conductivity. OneStep Cleargel is well suited for use with EEG caps, surface cup electrodes and ECG and EMG electrode applications.
